My Mac talks, reading a spreadsheet. My PC listens, and types the spreadsheet data into dialog boxes.

Automating closed captions

Watch my Mac read a spreadsheet, and my PC enter the numbers into Storyline!

Last year I worked on a series of extensive Storyline modules that required closed captioning.  At the time, Storyline could not incorporate industry-standard closed caption files, and the few workarounds that existed were tedious and time-consuming.  The video below shows my weird-but-functional endeavor to automate the process.  This is a true “Frankenstein” process, with parts from many software apps.  I probably wouldn’t recommend copying this process, but I think the basic concept is interesting enough to share.
